Tom Davis Announces Candidacy for St. John’s City Council, Ward 4, with a Commitment to Community Well-being and Fiscal Responsibility

St. John’s, Newfoundland – Today, Tom Davis, a long-standing community leader and business owner, officially announces his candidacy for St. John’s City Council in Ward 4. Davis, who founded Frontline Action over 30 years ago, has been a significant figure in promoting active lifestyles in St. John’s and is now poised to bring his experience and vision to the City Council.

A graduate of Memorial University with degrees in Business and Arts, majoring in Economics, Davis has been an integral part of the Ward 4 community. He grew up playing rugby at the Swilers Rugby Complex and now enjoys playing pickleball at Greenbelt, Northpoint, and MUN. His deep connections to the recreational life of the community underscore his commitment to promoting a physically and mentally healthy ward.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Davis has made significant contributions to local community centers and organizations, including West Heights, Chalker Place, MacMorran Community Centres, Big Brothers and Sisters, and Rotary. These roles have given him a unique perspective on the issues facing residents.

A key concern for Davis is the recent 13% increase in property taxes, which he believes presents a significant challenge to small businesses, seniors, and all residents of Ward 4. He advocates for responsible fiscal management to maintain the economic health and well-being of the community.

Davis emphasizes the importance of addressing critical issues such as traffic and speeding concerns, efficient snow clearing, and providing affordable housing. He is also acutely aware of the community’s environmental challenges, having been part of the Quidi Vidi Rennies River Committee, where he witnessed the impact of flooding and the need for proactive infrastructural planning.

Davis’s extensive involvement in the community positions him as a knowledgeable and dedicated candidate. He is committed to advocating for policies that enhance the quality of life for all residents, focusing on economic, social, environmental, and health aspects of the community.

This announcement serves as a call to action for taxpayers across the province. Davis urges those with family and friends in Ward 4 to discuss the importance of electing a representative who values responsible fiscal management and community well-being.

Tom Davis is dedicated to creating a future where St. John’s Ward 4 thrives in every aspect – economically, socially, environmentally, and in terms of the community’s health and wellness.
